Elia Laser Booking, Treatment & Consent Policy

At Elia Laser, our goal is to provide safe, effective, and personalized laser hair removal treatments in a professional and supportive environment. Please review the following information carefully before booking or receiving treatment.

Appointments, Cancellations & Rescheduling

Appointments are reserved specifically for you. We kindly request a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling requests. Changes made within this timeframe may be subject to a service fee, and missed appointments may be charged in full. Late arrivals may result in a shortened appointment or the need to reschedule in order to maintain the schedule for all clients.

Consultation & Treatment Suitability

All new clients begin with a consultation and medical intake process. Information regarding medical history, medications, skin conditions, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals is collected to determine whether laser hair removal is appropriate and how treatment should be performed safely.
Treatment suitability is assessed at every appointment. Elia Laser reserves the right to modify, postpone, or decline treatment where safety concerns, contraindications, recent sun exposure, medication use, skin conditions, pregnancy, or other factors may increase the risk of adverse effects.

Treatment Expectations

Laser hair removal is designed to provide gradual, long-term reduction of unwanted hair. Individual results vary and are influenced by factors including skin tone, hair colour, hair density, hormonal influences, ethnicity, genetics, medications, and adherence to treatment recommendations.
Most clients require approximately 9–12 treatments or more to achieve optimal results. Maintenance treatments may be recommended over time, particularly in areas affected by hormonal influences. Hair that is white, grey, blonde, or red may not respond effectively to treatment, and a small percentage of individuals may experience limited or no response despite completing a recommended treatment plan.
Clients are responsible for scheduling and attending treatments at the recommended intervals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Pre-Treatment Requirements

To ensure safe and effective treatment, clients are expected to follow all pre-treatment instructions provided by Elia Laser. Treatment may need to be postponed if recent sun exposure, tanning, self-tanning products, medication use, or skin conditions increase the risk of adverse skin reactions.
Clients must disclose any changes to their medical history, medications, pregnancy status, skin condition, or health circumstances prior to each treatment appointment.

Risks & Potential Side Effects

While laser hair removal is generally well tolerated, all treatments carry potential risks and side effects.
Common temporary side effects may include redness, swelling, warmth, tenderness, or mild discomfort in the treated area. These effects typically resolve within one to two days.
Less common side effects may include bruising, blistering, infection, prolonged irritation, or delayed healing. In rare cases, scarring may occur, particularly following blistering or improper aftercare.
Pigment changes may occur, including temporary or permanent darkening (hyperpigmentation) or lightening (hypopigmentation) of the skin. While uncommon, these changes may take several months to resolve and, in rare cases, may be permanent.
Additional considerations include future hair growth related to hormonal changes, changes in pigmentation of freckles or moles, and potential eye injury if protective eyewear is not worn during treatment.

Facial Hair Treatment Considerations

Facial hair growth may be influenced by hormonal factors, including but not limited to PCOS, thyroid disorders, and other hormonal fluctuations. As a result, maintenance treatments may be required even after successful initial treatment.
In rare cases, laser treatment of facial areas may result in paradoxical hypertrichosis, a condition in which additional hair growth develops in nearby untreated areas. While uncommon, this possibility is discussed as part of the consultation process, and individual responses to treatment may vary.

Medical Considerations

Laser hair removal may not be suitable for all individuals. Treatment may be postponed or declined for clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active infections, certain medical conditions, recent sun exposure, or are using medications that increase photosensitivity.
Clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate medical information and for updating Elia Laser regarding any changes that may affect treatment safety or outcomes.

Client Responsibility

By proceeding with treatment, clients acknowledge that they have answered all intake questions honestly and to the best of their knowledge. Clients understand that failure to follow pre-treatment or post-treatment instructions may increase the risk of adverse effects and may affect treatment outcomes.
Clients are encouraged to ask questions at any time and are expected to communicate concerns, reactions, or changes in health status throughout the course of treatment.

Packages, Promotions & Pricing

Package pricing, promotional offers, and service fees are subject to change without notice. Packages are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise required by law. Any applicable pricing, package inclusions, and treatment recommendations will be discussed prior to beginning treatment.

Privacy & Record Keeping

Elia Laser collects and securely maintains personal, medical, photographic, and treatment-related information for the purpose of providing safe and effective care. By booking an appointment and proceeding with treatment, clients consent to the collection, use, and retention of this information in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and professional record-keeping requirements.

By booking an appointment, completing intake forms, and proceeding with treatment, clients acknowledge that they have read and understood this policy, have had the opportunity to ask questions, and consent to receiving laser hair removal treatment where deemed appropriate by the practitioner. Clients understand the nature of the treatment, the expected benefits, limitations, risks, and possible outcomes, and agree to follow all recommendations provided by Elia Laser.
